Jo Lochhead is the founder of The Crafty Kit Company, a small, passionate team based on a farm in East Lothian, Scotland. With a mission to spread the joy of crafting, Jo creates award-winning, eco-conscious kits that promote well-being, mindfulness, and creativity. From needle felting to cross stitch, Jo’s thoughtfully designed kits empower beginners and seasoned makers alike to craft with confidence. Jo is also the author of two books—one of which became a bestseller—and is currently writing a third, focused on Moomin embroidery.
Heather Plant
Needle felting
Heather Plant is a primary school teacher with a lifelong love of crafting. She first picked up a needle and thread at the age of four, learning to cross stitch at school and inspired by her mother and grandmother, both avid crafters. Over the years, Heather has gone on to teach herself a wide range of creative skills, including sewing, embroidery, crochet, and needle-felting. She discovered needle-felting in 2020 and soon developed her own designs, later becoming a designer for The Crafty Kit Company. Heather is currently co-authoring her debut embroidery book, combining her passion for teaching with her love of making.
